When the application is run, the GridView is bound to the ObjectDataSource and the data is displayed appropriately, as shown in Figure 9-15.

In the example shown, the data in the database is isomorphic with the fields in the business object, but in a real-world application, the customer business object might be larger, smaller, or more complex than the data stored in a single table in the database.

Two of the new technologies that became available in this .NET 3.5 release that address this style of binding to business objects are Language Integrated Query (LINQ) and the ASP.NET MVC website project. We'll look at the latter item in Chapter 21. We introduce LINQ in the next chapter.
